Welcome to HTM On the Line. I'm your host, bryant Hawkins Sr. Today's episode is about something deeper than tools, machines or the systems we maintain. It's about you, the person behind it all. This episode is a call to action. It's about stepping back, realigning and remembering that the impact you make in this industry begins with the energy, purpose and focus you bring to the table. So, wherever you're tuning in from, take a moment to pause and really lean into this episode. Let's explore how you can show up, not just for your job but for your life.
Speaker 1:This message today is for the grinders, the dreamers, the ones who refuse to settle for mediocrity, the ones who show up every single day in the HTM industry doing the work that keeps everything running. Let's be honest, this industry isn't easy. The stakes are high, the pressure never lets up. There's no room for shortcuts or excuses. But here's the thing. That's what makes it special. That's what makes you special. You're here because you're built for this. You're here because, when the pressure's on you rise and here's the truth that most people won't tell you the biggest challenge you'll face in this industry or in life has nothing to do with the machines you fix or the systems you repair. The greatest challenge is you. It's the project you repair. The greatest challenge is you. It's the project of you, it's the energy, the mindset and the purpose you bring to the table every single day. That's the game changer. That's what separates those who simply work from those who lead, inspire and make an impact. Today we're going to examine just that, because if you can master the business of you, everything else will follow.
Speaker 1:Let me tell you a story. There was someone in HTM who started at the very bottom doing basic maintenance work, running around fixing anything and everything, grinding day in and day out, giving everything to the job but absolutely nothing to themselves. And, as you might expect, they burned out. They hit a wall. They kept thinking if I just work harder, things will get better. If I just push through, everything will fall into place. But here's the truth Hard work without alignment is wasted energy. You can't just grind aimlessly. You have to get intentional. You have to focus on what fuels you, on what gives you purpose, because if you don't, you'll wake up one day completely drained asking yourself why did I even start this in the first place? This person made a decision, a life-changing decision. They started taking care of themselves mentally, physically and emotionally. They got clear on their why, on what truly mattered to them. They stopped running on autopilot and started living with purpose, and now they're running their own department, leading with clarity, inspiring their team and thriving in every area of their life. That transformation, it didn't come from working harder. It came from aligning their effort with their purpose. That's the shift we all need to make.
Speaker 1:Let's pause for a second and ask the real question what about you? How are you managing the business of you? Are you investing in yourself or are you spending all your energy on things that don't truly matter? Because here's the truth the HTM industry doesn't just need skilled workers, it needs leaders. I need you to understand something Energy is your currency.
Speaker 1:It's what allows you to create, inspire and lead. When you're in alignment, when your energy is focused on what matters, you're unstoppable. You move differently, you think bigger. You inspire others to step up just by being you. But when you're drained, when you're scattered, when you're giving everything to everyone but yourself, that's when everything falls apart. So ask yourself are you spending your energy on things that truly align with your purpose, or are you chasing distractions, trying to be everything to everyone? Because here's the reality you are your greatest assets. It all starts with you.
Speaker 1:So how will you manage the business of you today? Listen to me, you've got to protect your energy like your life depends on it. Cut out the distractions. Let go of the excuses. Stop trying to please everybody. Some people won't get it. Some people won't clap when you win.
Speaker 1:So what? That's not your concern. Your concern is waking up every day and asking yourself Am I better than I was yesterday? Because here's the thing what's for you is already yours, but it's not going to land in your lap. You've got to work for it. You've got to stay locked in on your goals. You've got to outlast the distractions, outwork the competition and outgrow the doubts in your own mind.
Speaker 1:And when life tests you and it will don't run from it Embrace it. The adversity, the challenges, the setbacks, they're not there to stop you. They're there to sharpen you. Every obstacle is an opportunity to rise. Every failure is a lesson that's preparing you for your next breakthrough. You've got to trust the process, even when it hurts, because pain isn't the end, it's the beginning of growth. So here's my challenge for you Take a step back today. Look at your life, not the machines, not the hospital, not the job. Look at you. Are you pouring into yourself? Are you building the life you deserve or are you just surviving day to day? Because when you take care of you, when you align your energy, your focus and your purpose, everything else falls into place.
Speaker 1:The HTM industry doesn't just need people who can work. It needs people who can lead, people who can see the bigger picture, people who have the courage to break the mold and redefine what's possible, and that's you. So stop waiting, stop hesitating. This is your time, your moment, your season. Get out there and own it, because your best work, your greatest impact is still ahead of you, and I promise you, when you stay committed to the process, when you protect your energy and when you show up every single day with purpose, you won't just make waves in this industry. You'll create a legacy. Now go, make it happen.
Speaker 1:Thank you for tuning in today. As you go back to your daily grind, I want to leave you with this the work you do matters, but the person behind the work matters even more. Take time to reflect, recharge and refocus. You can't pour from an empty cup, and the best version of you is what this industry truly needs. So take that next step. Make the adjustments where you need to prioritize what fuels you, because when you do, you're not just contributing, you're leading, you're inspiring. You're leading, you're inspiring, you're building a legacy. Until next time, take care of yourself and keep showing up for what truly matters. I'll see you in the next episode of HTM On the Line, take care.
